Coleen Sue Dowdall

COLEEN SUE DOWDALL, age 67 of Grand Blanc, died on Monday, October 10, 2022 at her residence. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Noon on October 20, 2022 at St. John Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton St., Davison, MI 48423. The family will receive visitors from 11AM until the time of her service at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Genesee County Humane Society, G3325 Dort Hwy Burton MI 48529. Coleen was born in Flint MI, on July 31, 1955 to Michael and Mary Dowdall. She excelled at sports and art and was an avid animal lover. Coleen loved gardening and had many plants. She seemed to be a very lucky person as she enjoyed playing Keno and gambling because she always seemed to come out ahead. Coleen was fond of excitement, and rarely sought out the quiet places in life- but when she did occupy such places, she filled them with laughter.  Her family found her both vexing and lovely.  She often joked that she was everyone's favorite Aunt, unaware that in most cases this was true.  She was a jovial spirit, and had an innate ability to make people feel welcome.  She weaved through family gatherings, seeking audiences with each person as though she had been looking for them all day.  Coleen was proud to be a Dowdall and regarded her family as her greatest mark of pride.  Coleen will be missed tremendously but we take solace in knowing that she has shed her pain.  Her spirit of love and passion for her family remains- and we will carry that with us forever.  Coleen is survived by her daughter, Maggie (Nathan) St. Clair; siblings: Michael "Mickey" (Diane) Dowdall, Bridget (Brad) Perry, Denny (Michelle) Dowdall, and Susie Hemingway; her cat of 21 years, Ralphie; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Kathleen Smith Dowdall.
