Clifford A. Balcer

Today we celebrate the life of Clifford Albert Balcer who was born to William and Gearldene Balcer on June 2, 1948, in Flint, MI.

On Friday, January 16, 2026, Clifford Albert Balcer went Home to see the one who loves him, Jesus. Many family members and friends were certainly there to greet him as he slipped peacefully from his earthly body while holding the hand of his beloved wife, Debra, and was welcomed into Heaven. Cliff and Debbie were married on March 28, 1975, and walked through 50 years of life together. Their gift and joy was raising 5 wonderful children:

Jessica (Scott) Brunet, Amber (Julian) Neil, Clifford (Summer) Balcer II, Carrie (Nicho) Balcer, and Andrew (Jakki) Balcer.

These five children blessed Cliff and Debbie with 9 grandchildren to love. Cody Crespo, Samantha Andrews, Jacob Balcer, Isaac DiGiamberdine, Ezekiel DiGiamberdine, Gabriel Balcer, Roman Balcer, Ryan Balcer and Wyatt Balcer. And blessed again with 9 great-grandchildren. Jayden, Harper, Joshua, Carter, Owen, Wesley, Colton, Ronon, and Brooklyn. Never a dull moment!

Cliff was also loved by his siblings Sharon Fielding, William (Laura) Balcer II, and Debra (Neil) Warner and his in-laws Sherryl (Miron) Smith, Babette (Michael) Levy, Ronald (Becky) Miron, Mona (Robert) Miron, and Dalette (Joe) Miron who look forward to seeing their brother again. Cliff was preceded in death by his brothers Gary Balcer and Alan Balcer.  Above all, Cliff loved his Lord, Jesus. He served as a Deacon of Vision Pointe Church and especially enjoyed supporting the yearly pie auction which raised funds to send children to camp. His hobbies included woodworking, specifically making beautiful scroll-cut wall art, as well as hunting, tinkering in the garage, beekeeping, and anything that would let him be outside. He especially liked teaching others about bees. Cliff totally loved playing football during his Atherton High School years. He was so good that he played varsity his freshman year. He liked to make plays that would bring the crowd to their feet! One play, he was so far ahead of the players that he turned and high-stepped backwards over the goal. General Motors, UAW 659, Chevy-Flint, is where he worked driving a fork truck. Then GM sent him to school to learn to drive a semi truck where he found his perfect place. He really loved his truck. When GM sold the trucking fleet to Penske, Cliff weighed the cost and decided to go to Penske where he retired in 2012.

Viet Nam changed Cliff’s life forever, yet he fought every day to find soundness in the day. Soon after basic Army training, he was deployed in 1967-1968 without being able to see his family before leaving. Receiving several medals and bars, including the Silver Star, he was a man willing to lay down his life for his brothers.

Cliff's funeral service will be held at 12PM on January 26, 2026 at Vision Pointe Assembly of God. 9444 E.
