Clare E. Breckenridge

CLARE E. BRECKENRIDGE, SR., age 95 of Otisville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Jacobs Ladder in Grand Blanc. His funeral service will be held at 12PM on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home, with Pastor Louie Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 3:00-7:30PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Otter Lake Church of the Nazarene. Clare was born on January 13, 1920 in Rooks Creek, IL to Porter and Jessie Breckenridge. He spent most of his life in Otisville, graduating from Otisville High School. He served in the US Army during WWII. Clare farmed in the area, retired from AC Spark Plug, and served in many organizations in the community. He was a member of the Otter Lake Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed spending time fishing at his property on Neebish Island. Surviving is his wife, Betty (Lutz); sons: Clare, Jr. "Gene" (Linda) Breckenridge and Jim (Laurel) Breckenridge; daughters: Donna (James) Smith, JoAnn Breckenridge, Anna (Jim Keidel) Breckenridge, and Ruth (Darwin) Groff; grandchildren: Dawn, Dan, Chad, Angi, Rena, James II, Juli, James Jr, Cheree, Nic, Bill, Ellen, Jessie, Darwin (Corky) and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Erba Hynes. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine; granddaughters; Kimberly and Jennifer; brother, Winnifred; sister, Estella Deger; and his parents.
