Charles Lee Hutchins Sr.

CHARLES "CHUCK" L. HUTCHINS, Sr. age 86 of Davison died Wednesday, November 11, 2009 in Zephyrhills, FL. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, November 16, 2009 at Hudson Funeral Service, Otisville, Pastor Marybelle Haynes officiating. Burial will be in Smith Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday November 15, 2009 from noon to 9 PM. He married Sarah Sparks on August 3, 1940. Chuck served his country with the U.S. Air Force in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After the war he began his career as a newspaper pressman by completing his apprenticeship at "The Flint Weekly Review." He was hired as a pressman at The Flint Journal in 1953 and retired as the pressroom foreman in 1981. With age his interest shifted from avid outdoorsman, to golfer, to shuffle board. Chuck was a member of the German Road United Methodist Church in Columbiaville. Surviving is his loving wife of 69 years, Sarah (Sally); sons: Lee (Betty) Hutchins and Lonnie Hutchins; and Brother: Robert (Anne) Hutchins. He was "Granddad" to Jeff, Joe, Julie, Jan, Holly, Heath, Kristi, Charles and 9 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry.
