Carol Ann Barden

Carol Ann Barden age74 of Otisville, MI died Thursday June 20, 2013 at Genesys Hospice Goodrich. Her memorial service will be held at 1 pm on June 27, 2013 at West Forest United Methodist Church 7297 E Farrand Rd Millington MI 48746, cremation has taken place. There will be visitation from 11 am until the time of service at the church. Carol was born on September 5, 1938 to Fred and Celestia Barden. Contributions may be made to West Forest United Methodist Church or to Genesee Schools Reading Program 7347 N. Genesee Rd Genesee MI 48437. Carol was a teacher and principal at Genesee Elementary Schools from 1959-2000. She was a member of West Forest United Methodist Church, , and the Otisville Historical Society, Life member of the Michigan Education Association, the National Education Association, and past president of Region 10 of the Michigan Elementary & Middle Schools Association, Past worthy high Priestes of the Flint Shrine #56, member of the order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Carol volunteered at Crossroads Village and the Flint Planetarium. She was known and loved most for her generosity and enduring courage. Surviving is her brother Joe (Irma) Barden; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Gretchen Hartt and Beulah Kenney.
