Carl Raymond Jennings

JENNINGS, Carl R. – of Otisville, age 81, died Sunday, June 20, 2021 at his residence, surrounded by family. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service in remembrance of Carl will be held 3PM, Friday, June 25, 2021 at  Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home, 116 Grove Street, Otisville, Michigan. Chaplain Gerald Vander-Hoek officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 1PM until the time of service at 3PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Heart Hospice.

Carl was born February 21, 1940 to the late Raymond and Marion Jennings. He graduated from Lakeville High School in 1957. Carl proudly served in the Army National Guard for a short period. He also served as the Assistant Fire Chief in Forest Township until retirement. He happily married Barbara Monroe in Otisville on December 29, 1961. Carl retired from General Motors in 1995 with 26 years of seniority and was a member of UAW Local# 599. Carl enjoyed golfing and fishing. He especially loved catching Pike through the ice on Picnic Lake and taking fly-in houseboat trips with friends in Canada. Most of all, he cherished spending time with friends and family.

Carl is survived by wife, Barbara; Children: Brenda (Mark) Wetherwax and Scott Jennings; Grandchildren: Chad Wetherwax, Aimee Wetherwax, Travis Wetherwax, Tiffany Jennings, Zachary Jennings, Cory (Liane) Jennings and Austin Jennings; Great-grandchildren: Cash, Eilleana, Gabriel, Archer, Charlie, Jake, Zoey and Zach;  Siblings: Carolyn (Gene) Hampton and Bob (Gail) Jennings. He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Jennings and sister, Janet Jennings. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of those that has helped out through the difficult times.
