Carl R. Carpenter

CARL R. CARPENTER age 76 of Otisville, died Sunday, December 16, 2007 at Genesys Hospice. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Hudson Funeral Service, Inc. in Otisville, Rev. Carter Garrigues-Cortelyou officiating. Burial will be in Smith Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-8 PM. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Genesys Hospice. Carl was born on March 23, 1932 the son of Melvin and Gretchen (Leonard) Carpenter. He married Phyllis Glann on March 5, 1955. Carl retired from Buick Motor Div. He was a member of the Atlanta Thunder Bay Eagles. Surviving are wife: Phyllis; children: Dan (Kathy) Carpenter of Davison, David (Yvonne) Carpenter of Otisville, Carla Carpenter of Grand Rapids, and Carrie Carpenter of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren: Dustin, Rychelle, Justin, Dana, Eric and Tricia; great-grandchildren: Dylan, Garvin, Makenna, Drake, Landen, and Alisia; brothers and sisters: Virginia Badgley, Leonard (Doris) Carpenter, Beatrice (Richard) Shade, Reva (Gary) Beckwith and Richard (Margaret) Carpenter; many nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his parents, brother: William Carpenter, brother-in-law: Lyle Badgley.
