Rev. Billy J. Mckown

REV. BILLY J. McKOWN, age 71 of Flushing, formerly of Otisville, died Wednesday June 6, 2007 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday June 9, 2007 at the Davison United Methodist Church, Rev. Dr. Andrew Allie will be officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral service. Visitation will be Friday 11 AM-3PM and 6-9PM at the Hudson Funeral Service, Otisville. A Masonic memorial service by Morning Star Lodge F&AM #556 will be held, Friday 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to UMCOR. Bill was born in Chillicothe, Missouri on August 9, 1935 to Jewell E. and Reeva C. (Osborn) McKown. He married Bonnie J. Switzer on February 16, 1957. He served as a United Methodist Minister for the following churches: Burton Community UMC/Carland UMC of Owosso, MI; Sutton-Sunshine UMC/Bethel UMC of Caro, MI; and Otisville UMC/West Forest UMC of Otisville, retiring in 2005. As a retired minister, he continued to serve at Vernon UMC of Vernon, MI. Rev. Bill was an Eagle Scout and a Cub Scout Master for over 29 years for Packs 75 and 210. He attended Central Methodist College, where he played football. He graduated from Garrett Seminary School. Bill was a member of Morning Star Lodge F&AM #556 and was a Korean War Veteran. He is survived by wife: Bonnie; 3 sons: Michael (Ruth) McKown; Douglas (Anne) McKown; Gregory (Cathy) McKown; 3 granddaughters: Jennifer, Michelle, and Madysyn; 2 great grandchildren: Michael & Fionna.
