Betty Joanne Pittenger

Of Otisville, MI age 86 passed away Wednesday March 13, 2019 at Ascension Genesys Regional Medical Center ICU.  Funeral Services will be held at Noon on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Mumford Funeral Home, 116 Grove St., Otisville, MI.  Pastor Bruce Malicoat officiating.  Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation Friday, 3pm to 9pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to West Forest Methodist Church,7297 W. Farrand Rd, Millington, MI 48746 .

Betty was born in Flint, Michigan on March 19, 1932, the daughter of Frank and Elsie (Gingery) Larson. She married Richard (Pat) Pittenger on August 5, 1950.

Betty was an avid homemaker, bookkeeper for her husband Richard's Business; and later worked part-time as a store clerk for over 20 years (family owned business; Larson's Ace Hardware & Gift Shop) where she retired in 2005. Anyone who shopped downtown Davison during those years will remember her helpful and friendly spirit.

Betty and Pat spend a lot of time together (with good friends Ed and Maryann White) traveling in their motor home while enjoying their hobby of 'Beagling'.

Surviving Betty are her children: Gary (Karin) Pittenger, Neil (Kathy) Pittenger, Cheryl (Frank) Boyce; grandchildren: Kerri (Caleb) Wood; Heather (Andrew) Decker, Nathan Pittenger; Tonya (Myke) Hawkins and Daniel (Jessica) Provost; step grandchildren: Troy Waterman, Steve Waterman, Holli McGeshick and great-granddaughters: Ava Hawkins, Isla and Gemma Decker, Connor Wood, Emilee Sackman.

Betty is survived by her sister-in-laws; Rosalyn Larson; Joan Pittenger; Kathy Pittenger; Judy (Neil) Cooley, Connie McGuire; and brother-in-law: Alan (Peggy) Pittenger,.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Richard "Pat" Pittenger, parents and siblings: Alvin Larson, Doris (Fred) Lacey, Carol (Bob) Kimmel, Richard Larson, and Sharon (Rick) Bauder.

The family would like to thank Ascension Genesys ICU team for their care and comfort in the final days of their mother Betty.
