Betty L. Hawley

BETTY L. HAWLEY, age 90 of Holly, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 28, 2015. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private celebration of Betty's life will be held at a later date. Betty was born on February 20, 1925 in Boone, NC to John and Minnie (Ashley) Blevins. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking, and reading. Betty is survived by her husband, Osmer J. Hawley; children: Thomas (Beth) Simonds, Jonathan (Karla) Simonds, Lorna (Kurt) Salzano, Donald (Janet) Simonds, Diane (Bill) Raymond, Terry (Gail) Hawley, Kevin (Julie) Hawley, and Jody Hawley; son-in-law, Dennis Dafoe; 28 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Simonds, Sr.; daughters, Donna Dafoe and Robin Detkowski; and son, Fred Hawley.
