Barbara J. Cochran

Barbara J. Cochran, age 88 died Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Fisher Senior Care in Mayville, Michigan. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Barbara is survived by her daughters: Kimberli Cochran and Jennifer Cochran Doettling; grandchildren: Melissa (Jonathan) Lemieux and Emma Doettling; and brother, Brian (Leila) Snooks. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jack Cochran, her loving parents, and her brother Richard.

Barbara was born on July 22, 1937 in Detroit, MI to Charles and Donna Snooks. She graduated from Wayne State University and was a Nurse Practitioner at Henry Ford Hospital and the Visiting Nurses Association. She also taught at Oakland University. Barbara was an avid traveler, for many years traveling with her husband to the Caribbean, Central America, Europe and especially sunny, warm locales in the winter months. She continued to travel well into her eighties, most recently with her daughters on a memorable trip to Alaska.  She also frequented the Detroit Symphony, supported museums and the arts, and enjoyed the local Detroit restaurant scene as a lover of good food and wine.
