ARLENE BOND, age 93 of Flint, formerly of Otisville, died Friday, September 2, 2011at Brian's House with her daughter and son-in-law at her side. Funeral services will be 12PM Friday, September 9, 2011at Mumford–Hudson Funeral Home Inc., Rev. Bruce Malicoat officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 11AM-8PM at the funeral home. An Eastern Star memorial service will be held at 6:30PM Thursday and conducted by Nourmahal Chapter 282 OES. Contributions may be made to the Otisville Historical Society or Brian's House. Arlene was born on February 10, 1918 to James and Gussie (Torrey) Harris in Otisville. She married Glen Bond on June 11, 1957 in Angola, Indiana. She was a member of Local 326 Ternstead Coldwater Rd., retiring in December 1978 with 25 ½ years of service. She was a life member and past Worthy Matron twice of Nourmahal Chapter 282 OES, past Worthy High Priestess of Flint's #56 White Shrine of Jerusalem, member of Amarath Court #2, member of West Forest United Methodist Church, past president of the West Forest Church Woman's Society, Chaplin for the Michigan and Ontario Assn., and she was a member and secretary of the Otisville Area Historical Society. Arlene enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, making quilts, watching Tiger baseball games, and playing bingo. Surviving is her Daughter: Margaret (Paul) Lehoux, granddaughters: Dianne (Doug), Karen (Pete), Paula (Joe), and Laurie; grandsons: Mike (Debbie) and Dan (Cindy); 16 great- grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec 17, 1985; twins: Barbara Jean and Billy Lee, son Donald; grandson: Russell; sister: Beatrice; foster sisters: Helen Mayer and Norene Rosin; and foster brothers: Donald and Sherwood Herrington.
