Anita E. Poppenfuse

Anita Poppenfuse, age 87 of Otisville, on May 25, 2025 with her grandchildren by her side, holding her hand as Amazing Grace played in the background, she went to be with her husband and son in Heaven. Her funeral service will be held at 11AM on Friday, May 30, 2025 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 450 Wilson Rd., Otisville, MI 48463. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 11AM until 7PM at the funeral home and on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 10AM until the time of her service at the church. Burial will follow in Crestwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Timothy Lutheran Church.

Anita was born on June 25, 1937 to Aurthur and Ida Weiland, she married Eugene Poppenfuse on June 11, 1955 in Hillman MI. She enjoyed crocheting, polka, attending eucher, bible study, and knitting circles at the church. She was a big Tigers Baseball fan, and she rarely missed a game. Anita always planted a big garden and was always baking bread for her family. Her baked goods were famous and were fought over at bake sales. Anita was a hugger, and she loved giving hugs and would give a hug rather than a handshake. Anita's favorite pastime was spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.

She is survived by her children: Patricia Poppenfuse, Donald (Kay) Poppenfuse, Kim Harger, and Paul Poppenfuse; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and brother-in-law, August Poppenfuse.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Poppenfuse; son, David Poppenfuse; and siblings: Gertrude, Marvin, and Leonard.
