Alvin Wilson

Alvin Wilson, age 91 of Otisville, died Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at McLaren-Flint. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. His memorial service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, 1523 N. Oak Rd., Davison, MI 48423. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home in Otisville from 3-7PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Alvin's memory to Toys for Tots, 4425 S. Saginaw St., Flint, MI 48507 or a charity of one's choice.

Alvin was born on August 12, 1933 to G.L. "Doc" and Irene Wilson. He grew up in Otter Lake and graduated from Otter Lake High School. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in April 1953, retiring from the Marines in March 1974.  During his military career, Alvin served in the Korean conflict, three tours of duty in Vietnam, as well as numerous military bases along the East Coast. He married Barbara Davis of Otisville on July 29, 1955 in Quantico, Virginia. They soon would have celebrated 70 years of marriage. Upon retirement from the Marine Corps, Alvin was employed by Citizens Bank in Flint, retiring in 1994. He was also an active Ham Radio operator for many years with the call letters of N8NPR. He attended St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church in Davison.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Barbara; and son, Alvin Jr. (Lisa); two grandchildren: Meaghan (Jeff) Wandell and Andrew (Heather) Wilson; three beloved granddaughters: Mackenzie, Grace and Gwen; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers: Wayne Jackson and James Wilson.
